Meet Cheryl

Each piece of Cheryl Harris Pottery is hand crafted with love.

While no two pieces are exactly alike, Cheryl uses similar design and glazing elements that are easily mixed and matched to create cohesive sets.

Whether the glazes are poured, dipped or brushed the colors are inspired by neutral tones found in nature, often times with a pop of color, like a flower in a field.

She further expresses her unique style and creativity with a myriad of texture techniques such as carving, lace impressions, stamps, and slip designs. She is also known for the contrasting colors and swirling effects she achieves by layering multiple clay types and stain colored clays.

Passionate about all things pottery, Cheryl’s experience comes from years of classes and workshops. She has enjoyed learning from many of Virginia’s talented potters including Nan Rothwell, Carrie Althouse, Stephen Palmer, and Gloria Eshelman, as well as internationally known masters Simon Leach, Bill van Gilder and David Norton.

She continues to enrich her skills through technique specific workshops, pottery publications and practice, practice, practice.
